How to use this tool
Enter text to encode as UTF-8 Base64, or paste Base64 to decode it back to text.
Private processing
Your input is processed in this browser tab. PixelKit does not upload it to a file-processing server; leaving the page clears the current work.
Formats and limits
Base64 is encoding, not encryption. Invalid Base64 or decoded bytes that are not UTF-8 produce an error.
Frequently asked questions
Is Base64 encryption?
No. Base64 is a reversible encoding that makes binary or UTF-8 text easier to move through text-only channels; anyone can decode it.
Why does Base64 make text longer?
Base64 uses four characters for every three bytes, so the encoded text is roughly one third larger than the UTF-8 input.
What happens if I paste invalid Base64?
The tool reports an error instead of returning partial text. Check padding, whitespace and characters outside the Base64 alphabet.
