How to use this tool
Enter text, encode it for a URL component or decode percent-encoded text, then copy or download the result.
Private processing
Your input is processed in this browser tab. PixelKit does not upload it to a file-processing server; leaving the page clears the current work.
Formats and limits
This tool encodes URL components, not complete URLs. Malformed percent sequences produce an error instead of partial output.
Frequently asked questions
When should I use URL component encoding?
Use it for a value inside a query string or path segment. It encodes spaces, punctuation and non-ASCII characters so the value can travel in a URL.
What happens when percent-encoding is malformed?
Decoding reports an error instead of guessing. Check for incomplete percent escapes such as a percent sign without two hexadecimal digits.
Is my text uploaded while it is encoded?
No. Encoding and decoding happen locally in the current tab; the text is not sent to a server or stored.
