Local processing Video tools

Extract video frame

Inspect a short video and save a frame as a PNG image without uploading it.

The video is decoded in this tab. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use this tool

Choose a short video, inspect its duration and dimensions, seek to a time, then save a PNG frame or extract its audio track as WAV.

Private processing

Your input is processed in this browser tab. PixelKit does not upload it to a file-processing server; leaving the page clears the current work.

Formats and limits

Files are limited to 200 MB and 10 minutes; frames above 16 megapixels are rejected. Codec support and seek precision depend on the browser.

Frequently asked questions

Which video formats can I use?

The tool uses the browser video decoder, so support depends on the browser. MP4/H.264 and WebM are common; unsupported codecs or containers are reported instead of silently failing.

Does the captured PNG match the displayed frame?

The PNG is drawn from the decoded video at its native pixel size and the selected time. The browser decoder and seek precision determine the exact frame.

Is my video uploaded while I capture a frame?

No. The video and captured image stay in the current tab; leaving the page clears both.
