How to use this tool

Paste valid JSON, choose two-space, four-space or compact output, then copy or download the formatted result.

Private processing

Your input is processed in this browser tab. PixelKit does not upload it to a file-processing server; leaving the page clears the current work.

Formats and limits

The tool validates JSON but does not repair invalid input. Errors identify the available line and column; content is not sent to a server.

Frequently asked questions

Does the formatter repair invalid JSON?

No. Invalid JSON is rejected with a clear error and, when the browser reports a position, a line and column. The formatter never guesses or rewrites the structure.

What is the difference between formatting and minifying?

Formatting adds indentation so the structure is easier to read. Minifying removes optional whitespace while keeping the same JSON data.

Is my JSON uploaded while it is formatted?

No. Parsing and formatting happen in your browser, and the content is not sent to a server or kept after you leave.
