How to use this tool
Choose one image, select a rectangular area and choose pixelation or an opaque solid-color cover. Process the image and inspect the exported result.
Private processing
Your input is processed in this browser tab. PixelKit does not upload it to a file-processing server; leaving the page clears the current work.
Formats and limits
Pixelation can be reversed or leave details recognizable. Use an opaque solid cover for sensitive information; the selected region is flattened into a new locally re-encoded image.
Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the area to pixelate?
Drag the selection box over the image. You can move or resize it, then process the image when the covered area looks right.
Is pixelation safe for hiding sensitive details?
Pixelation is not a secure redaction method and may leave details recognizable. Choose a solid opaque cover for sensitive information.
Is the image uploaded while the region is processed?
No. The browser decodes, pixelates and exports the selected image locally in this tab.
