Local processing Image tools

Remove image metadata

Re-encode images in your browser to remove embedded EXIF and GPS metadata.

How to use this tool

Add JPG, PNG or WebP images and process the batch. The browser decodes and re-encodes each image, then offers the new files for download.

Private processing

Your input is processed in this browser tab. PixelKit does not upload it to a file-processing server; leaving the page clears the current work.

Formats and limits

Re-encoding removes embedded EXIF/GPS metadata but may alter JPEG quality or color profiles. Keep the originals; metadata removal is not a guarantee that every identifying visual detail is hidden.

Frequently asked questions

How does this tool remove EXIF data?

The browser decodes each image and exports a fresh canvas image, which omits the original EXIF and GPS metadata.

Will the re-encoded image look exactly the same?

Not always. JPEG is encoded again and may lose some quality; color profiles may also change. Compare the output and keep your original.

Does removing metadata hide everything about a photo?

No. The visible image can still contain faces, signs, locations or other identifying details. Review the picture itself before sharing.
