Frequently asked questions

Which audio formats can I trim?

The tool accepts any audio file the browser can decode, such as MP3, WAV, OGG and some M4A or AAC files. Unsupported codecs are rejected after decoding is attempted.

Is the WAV export lossless?

The export is 16-bit PCM at the decoded sample rate and channel count. Browsers may decode at a different rate, such as 44.1 kHz input at 48 kHz, so keep the source file.

Is my audio uploaded while I trim it?

No. The file is decoded and trimmed in the current tab, and leaving the page clears the audio and selection.
